Introduction to 5182 Aluminum:
5182 aluminum plate is Al-Mg rust-proof aluminum,performance of 5182 aluminum plate is similar to 5A02, but because the magnesium content is slightly higher than 5A02, and a small amount of silicon is added, the weldability is better than 5A02, and the 5182 aluminum plate is gas-welded and argon-arc. The welding performance of welding, spot welding and seam welding is very good, and there is no big difference in other performance.
Characteristics of 5182 Aluminum:
5182 belongs to the Al-Mg alloy and is used in a wide range of applications. Especially in the construction industry, it is the most promising alloy. Good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, good cold workability and medium strength. The main alloying element of 5052 is magnesium, which has good forming and processing properties, corrosion resistance, weldability and medium strength. 5182 alloy also has high fatigue resistance: which can not be heat-treated, and hardened in semi-cold. Its plasticity is still good and is low during cold work hardening, the polishing is possible. But the machinability is poor.
Use of 5182 Aluminum:
5182 Al-Mg-based alloy is the most widely used rust-proof aluminum. It is used in the manufacture of aircraft fuel tanks, oil pipes, and sheet metal parts for transportation vehicles and ships, instruments, street lamp brackets and rivets. Heat Treatment Process of 5182 Aluminum:
1) Homogenization annealing: heating 460 ~ 475 ° C; holding 12 ~ 14h; air cooling. 2) Rapid annealing: heating 350 ~ 410 ° C; holding time 30 ~ 120min; empty or water cooled. 3) High temperature annealing: heating 350 ~ 420 ° C; when the finished product thickness ≥ 6mm or <6mm, the holding time is 10 ~ 30min or 2 ~ 10min; air cooling. 4) Low temperature annealing: heating 250 ~ 300 ° C; holding time is 1 ~ 2h, air cooling.
